During your day of paintball, you may be exposed to varying terrain,  elements, and weather conditions.  As such, we recommend that you dress appropriately.   Long pants and a long sleeved shirt are generally a good idea.  The less you have exposed, the less chance of a paintball breaking on your skin.  Also, comfortable shoes with hard soles are recommended.  You will be moving through the woods, so bring footwear that you might use for a hiking activity.  Football cleats (plastic) are also worn by some.  Just keep in mind that you may be stepping on brush and rocks.  Keep in mind, even if it is hot, you probably still want to wear long pants and a long sleeved shirt. Some players choose to wear camouflage.  While this is not required, some feel camo gives them an added advantage.  Don't worry if you do not have camo clothing.  For recreation play, it doesn't really matter that much.  If you wish, we have camo jerseys for rent and camo coveralls for sale. You may also want to bring a change of clothes to the field to wear on your car ride back home.  You can get dirty moving around in the woods.  Why not keep it out of your car.

Here's a quick list of things you may want to bring to the Park:

  • Long pants / long sleeved shirt
  • Neck protection
  • Bandana, hat or baseball cap
  • Hard soled hiking boots / Football cleats
  • Gloves
  • A hoodie
  • Change of clothes
  • Camouflage clothing
  • Towel to clean off with your equipment if you are not renting
  • Your friends
  • A good attitude

Most any aged individual can play at SplatterPark.  We've had players ranging in age from pre-teens to senior citizens.  Parents often ask what the minimum age is.

Paintball & AirSoft:  Although the minimum age is 10, a parent or guardian must give permission to play at Splatterpark for minors.   Keep in mind that the ability to participate is usually determined by the maturity level of the player.  A parent is usually better able to determine if their child would be able to play the game and follow the rules.  This would include the 2 most imperative rules of keeping your goggles on and knowing when to use your barrel cover.  If your child is 10 or older and you feel they may have some difficulty following these rules, they should either not play or you should play the game next to them.

Paintballs are nonstaining, nontoxic, and biodegradable.  As such, the paintball fill will not permanently stain your clothes.  Your clothes can be laundered as normal to remove any paint residue.  Although paintball are nonstaining, we do recommend that you wear older clothes as you will be going through the woods and may get dirty. For more info on clothing visit Clothing.

The speed of a paintball is measured in the fps (feet per second) of the paintball as it leaves the barrel of the gun.

The speed limit of Traditional Paintball is 285 fps.

If you are renting, you will be supplied with a Tippmann semi-automatic paintball gun with tank, a safety mask and a number of paintballs (depending on which package you choose).  These are the necessary items used to play.  Other items may be considered useful, however.

We rent camouflage jerseys and butt packs which are used to carry extra paint onto the field.   For the more seasoned player, other items may be found to be useful as well.  For the first-timer though, come as you are is the general rule.

At Splatterpark, we offer a mini pro shop to serve your general use needs.  Choose from a wide selection of accessories, parts, and other items to meet your immediate needs.  For your extended needs, we offer a full-line pro shop located just over a half hour away in Columbus.

You may bring your own food, birthday cake or beverages to the Park. SplatterPark has never restricted bringing your own food.

World Famous SplatterPark Hot Dogs and various other items are available to purchase at our concession stand. These change from time to time and will include: cold soda, water, energy drinks, Gatorade, hot chocolate, coffee, candy, snacks, and other food items.
